    Lies He Told

    She says, "Friends?"
He extends his right arm out to gesture a shake of hands.
He says, "Let's be the first people in the world to say it and truly mean it."
    They shake on it.

He's such a hugogigantico of a liar. Yes he is folks.

    Dial-Up

I'm on dial up now. My new place does not have broadband service available. Nada, not a single broadband service provider has any internet access to my area. So I was stuck with dial up. Jaring nonetheless, quite stereotypical since they started the whole dial up internet thing in the first place. I remember 10 years ago when I first got my pentium, Jaring was the only source of internet. Well a lot have changed in 10 years. Jaring now offers pre-paid dial up. You see instead of paying a bill every month they come up with this pre-paid card which you buy for around RM30 and it offers you 50 hours of internet time via dial up. So here I was stuck with a choice of not having internet at all or getting dial up to sustain my internet needs till Jaring or whichever broadband service provider comes and offer services to my area. Of course i chose dial up and i took the pre-paid option as well. I guess it would control me more from over doing it on dial up.

So I came home all happy that internet would be available to me again. Well okay, not that happy considering I have been living with broadband for what seemed like ages. "It's still internet," I told myself. First thing I found out upon trying my new Jaring dial up was that my computer did not have an internal modem. It had an internal ethernet port but nooooo it couldn't just have an internal modem as well. So there was a problem I was faced with. I had to go get an internal modem PCI card which will cost me more money for temporary stuff but wait I then remembered that I had one in my old CPU. Down I went into the store room where my prehistoric AMD K6 450 was and started taking it apart. Installed the modem into my computer and got online. It was going well except for the part when my sister wanted to use the internet as well and being dial up we couldn't go online at the same time. Still tolerable until now...

My 50 hours have ran out. Okay should have asked the lady at the reception where I could get some reload for the account. Never mind, I'll just head to my aunt's place and go online. You could probably do an online purchase for the reload. So I got my mom's credit card number and over I went to my aunt's to "fix" my internet. It has been 4 days since i made the online purchase and still my dial up doesn't connect. In Nad's place writing this and shall call Jaring "helpline" when I go home.

The morale of this story boys and girls is dial up is crap just get broadband. It's faster and cheaper and it's way hell cooler.

    In a Rut Part 2

Just to prove that I actually knocked my head as a little child. Hehe.
